aftercare instructions

Sis, Let’s Talk Eyebrow Aftercare!

Taking care of your brows after your appointment is a must, so don’t skip these steps! Follow this routine for the full 10-day healing period to make sure your brows heal right and keep their color poppin’. Just know—results will be different for everybody, and perfection can’t be promised.

Here’s the tea on keeping those brows flawless:

  1. Wash ‘Em Right – Use a gentle cleanser (lather it in your hands first) and wash your brows morning and night for 7–10 days or until the flaking stops.
  2. Pat, Don’t Splash – After washing, gently blot them dry with a clean towel—no rubbing! And sis, no letting water sit on your brows. Keep them nice and dry.
  3. Ointment Time – Use the ointment we gave you morning and night. A tiny bit (like a grain of rice) is all you need for each brow—apply it with clean fingers.
  4. For My Oily-Skin Queens – If you were told to skip the ointment and go for a dry heal, stick to it! No ointment for 7–10 days if that’s your instruction.

What to Expect

Girl, don’t expect your brows to be perfect right after the first session—this is a process, and it might take two steps to get them just right. Patience is key during the 10-day healing period because your brows are going to look different every day.

Right after your appointment: Your brows will look darker and more defined—maybe even a little bold. They might also look more solid at first.

Days 4–5: You’ll probably notice flaking and your brows might look a little dry. Whatever you do, DON’T PICK AT THEM—let the flakes fall off naturally. Picking can leave your brows looking patchy and may even cause scarring.

Full healing time: It takes up to 4 weeks for your brows to fully heal. The color will keep changing day by day until everything settles at that 4-week mark.

Feeling itchy? After the 10 days, you might still feel some itchiness for up to 2 months—that’s just your skin doing its thing and healing the deeper layers.

Trust the process, babe—your brows are worth it!

THINGS NOT TO DO

  • DO NOT expose your brows directly to the sun during the healing process. UV Rays can alter the pigment of your tattoo. Following the first 10 days SPF is important for the longevity your micropigmentation.
  • DO NOT sweat excessively for 10 days. Sweat contains salt and can infect and prematurely fade your brow tattoo. Salt in the sweat may also alter the color of your tattoo. Moderate exercise is fine.
  • DO NOT run direct water on your brow tattoo. This is especially important in the first few days, you do not want to wash out any pigment.
  • DO NOT use Vaseline on your tattoo.
  • DO NOT use any makeup, creams, exfoliants on the brows for 10 days.
  • DO NOT go into sauna’s, pools, and steam rooms.
  • DO NOT get massages or facials or skin treatments during the healing process.
  • DO NOT go tanning
  • DO NOT use exfoliants, retinol acids, or AHA’s on the brow area. It will fade your tattoo prematurely.
  • DO NOT use laser light therapy on your brow tattoo. This can darken, lighten, and distort the pigment.

TOUCH UPS

Give Your Brows Time to Heal!

Make sure you give your brows at least 6 weeks to fully heal before booking a touch-up. This gives you time to decide if you need one or not, since it takes a full 4 weeks for the color to really settle in.

Touch-ups are usually done within the first 3 months after your initial appointment.

Remember, this is a process:

  • The first session is about building shape and creating symmetry.
  • The second session is all about perfecting your brows and adding that density you want.

Some clients may need multiple sessions to get the results they’re aiming for—so don’t expect perfection after the first round.

For my darker or oily skin ladies: Permanent makeup may not appear as bold or sharp compared to lighter, drier skin types. And if your skin has a harder time holding pigment, you might need additional sessions to get the look you’re after.luxedreamers.com
